Lunch at Pasta Zanmai, 1 Utama, Petaling Jaya

Having heard from Akiko that Pasta Zanmai was pretty good, I decided to try it for myself. I met up with a friend and we headed there for lunch. Pasta Zanmai is tucked behind their retail store, Shojikiya(they also have one upstairs which sits beside Sushi Zanmai) which is located at the Ground Floor of 1Utama(beside Carl's Jr). It's quite a small place actually, but it was pretty comfortable.

Having seated down, we proceeded ordering. There's quite a large selection of pasta as well as some rice dishes. I ordered Kinoko Tori no Cream Sauce(grilled chicken in cream sauce pasta) and my friend had Smoked Salmon Wafu. For every dish it comes in two choices; one is ala-carte and one is set. Set is additional RM3 more, and you get a salad + miso soup to go with your main dish.

It's a little strange eating here, as one would normally use a fork to eat pasta. But being asian, they serve chopsticks instead. I had green tea and they come served in a mini pot for 1 person( so that they dont have to refill my tea, lol)

Overall, Pasta Zanmai is pretty good. Both our dishes were great and we had no qualms to it. Also, Pasta Zanmai will be opening another branch soon at Sunway Pyramid on the 1st of June 2009. So know those living around Subang/Sunway/USJ don't have to go too far off :D
