KC cooks - Rosemary Chicken

Been pretty busy lately, but here is another of my food preparing/cooking post. Started off with my mom de-boning the chicken, she asked me if there'd be any recipes that I know off(not that I not many actually ;s). I bought a bottle of Rosemary a week ago, so I thought 'why not use it'. Fresh leaves are still the best, but I don't know where they sell it(can someone tell me?).

Seasoned meat : sugar,salt,pepper,rosemary leaves.

I put the chicken in the mixing bowl, started adding rosemary, salt, sugar and some black pepper. Massaged the chicken meat for a bit, and then dumped it into a cling bag and left it in the fridge for a couple of hours.

Fast forward towards dinner out. It was time to cook, I told my mom that we should grill it, but somehow or another it turned out to be like stir fry instead. Taste wise it wasn't too bad, but the chemistry isn't there; it was probably due the 'Hiong Choy(chinese fragrant leaves)' she added which kinda overlapped with the rosemary. Result : not quite as planned.

Not quite as planned: Stir fried rosemary chicken.

Fast forward another weekend, this time I told my mom to deep fry the chicken instead. I prepared the chicken the same way, except this time without Rosemary and alot of black pepper as seasoning. Dipped in flour, all the meat went into the hot oil. Mom bought sour plum sauce, so she made it as sauce to go with the meat.

Nugget-like : Deep-fried black pepper chicken.

So how was it this time? I would say, I loved it. alot.

Finger-lickin good : My supper, finished the remaining bits and the sauce :D

Lunch @ Ming Tien, Sunway.

My college friends and I went on a field trip to the hospital and bank for our assignment yesterday. Ming Tien(Tomorrow) was nearby, so we had our lunch there. I've never been there to eat either, so here comes a food review :D

Crispy Chicken Rice : Large serving with extra rice. Better than the one at Orange apparently.

Noodly Soup: Prawn Noodles.

For two: Bak kut teh.

Bak kut Teh: not quite done without 'Yao Char Kwai'.

Initial impressions of Bak Kut Teh seemed expensive; It costs RM21 for 2 persons, but after breakdown of cost it was not too bad. My friend ordered mixed meat, so it comes with lean meat, fatty meat, ribs and internal organs(hardly any inside tho). We ordered a total of 4 bowls of rice and 2 bowls of 'yao char kwai'. Now, Bak Kut Teh may have different preferences among people, but for me, this one wasn't too bad. I would rate it just slightly below the ones in Subang ss14.

As for the crispy chicken rice, it is said that Ming Tien has one of the better crispy chicken rice. It looked better than the one nearer to my college @ Orange. The prawn noodles didn't look too bad either.

Ming Tien is located beside Sunway Pyramid(Just below the One Academy).

What I cooked last week.

Some imagination and creative and perhaps impromptu cooking?

My mom asked me to prepare salmon at the last minute, and I couldn't think of any. She wants it baked so i lurked the interbutts and found some recipes.

I couldn't understand any of them.

Well, I went to the kitchen and dumped random herbs on it, and wah la, my baked salmon ~_~

Whats cooking? : baking salmon in foil.

Outcome : Baked salmon with lemon, garlic, spices(no thats not cheese ontop, I dont know what it is.)

It tasted fine, but not enough seasoning. And I didn't cook the rest of the food on the table.

Food Snippets (iv) - Lemon Pork Rice

What is this? : Lemon Pork Rice
What's it made of? : Deep fried pork, served with lemon sauce and rice.
How much? : RM4.50
Where can I eat it? : One2eat cafe aka Orange, Sunway.
Comments : I am totally in love with this dish(okay, maybe just the sauce). Just love the taste of the sauce although the amount of pork may vary. Sometimes alot, some times less. Depends on the chef's mood ~_~. Available at the 'Tai Chow' stall.
